Most people would look at my week and say it was a failure.
I drove hundreds of miles.
I spent hours talking with sellers.
I crawled under motorcycles.
I looked at titles.
Frames.
Engines.
Tires.
Cam chain tensioners.
Paint.
Chrome.
Mileage.
I negotiated.
I walked away.
Again.
And again.
By the end of the week…
I still didn’t own my first Harley-Davidson.
To some people, that sounds like failure.
I couldn’t disagree more.
Because sometimes the greatest progress we make isn’t in what we buy…
It’s in what we refuse to settle for.
The Lesson Was Never About The Motorcycle
As many of you know, I’ve started a personal project to build my first Harley-Davidson over the next 18–24 months on a budget of less than $7,500.
The motorcycle itself isn’t really the story.
The story is the process.
Every motorcycle I looked at taught me something.
One had hidden frame damage.
Another had paperwork issues.
One looked incredible in pictures but had mechanical concerns the seller conveniently forgot to mention.
Another simply wasn’t worth the asking price.
Years ago…
I probably would have bought the first shiny object I saw.
Today?
I’m willing to wait.
Because experience has taught me something that applies to nearly every area of life:
Patience almost always costs less than impulse.
Training Taught Me This Lesson First
Long before I started looking for Harley-Davidsons, I learned this lesson as a trainer.
People often begin their health journey wanting immediate results.
Lose twenty pounds.
Get stronger.
Lower blood sugar.
Feel better.
They want transformation by next Friday.
But the best trainers know something their clients usually don’t.
Transformation isn’t built through excitement.
It’s built through discipline.
It’s built by making hundreds of good decisions that nobody applauds.
Choosing to walk.
Choosing water instead of soda.
Preparing one more healthy meal.
Showing up when motivation disappears.
That’s what creates lasting change.
The same principle applied this week.
Walking away from the wrong motorcycle brought me one step closer to the right one.
The Best Trainers Don’t Sell Workouts
One thing I’ve learned throughout my career is that people don’t remember their best trainer because of the workout.
They remember them because of how they made them feel.
The greatest trainers in the world understand that they’re not selling exercise.
They’re building confidence.
They’re creating accountability.
They’re giving someone permission to believe in themselves again.
That’s leadership.
And leadership is exactly what the 50+ community needs.
As our population continues to grow, we’re looking for trainers who want to become more than fitness professionals.
We’re looking for people who want to become trusted guides.
If that’s you…
We’d love to talk.
Last week, we introduced something new.
We talked about hobbies.
Not because hobbies replace health…
But because health makes hobbies possible.
Over the coming months, I’ll continue sharing updates on my Harley-Davidson build.
The wins.
The mistakes.
The lessons.
The budget.
And eventually…
The finished motorcycle.
The hope is that these stories encourage you to pursue your own passions after 50.
Whether that’s restoring motorcycles…
Building furniture…
Gardening…
Photography…
Fishing…
Travel…
Or finally learning something you’ve always wanted to master.
The next chapter of life shouldn’t be smaller.
It should be richer.
Perps Just Made It to the US. Finally.
Perpetual futures: $90 trillion in annual volume, almost all of it offshore, unregulated, and one bad week away from vanishing.
Kalshi brought them onshore. First CFTC-regulated perps in US history. No expiry, no rollover, up to 5.8x leverage on BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, and more. Trade the price direction without touching the asset.
Using leverage increases risk of loss. Leverage is subject to the Firm's review and the customer's risk profile.

Final Thought
When I drove home this week without a Harley in the back of my truck…
I didn’t feel disappointed.
I felt prepared.
Because every motorcycle I walked away from made me a little wiser.
Every question I asked made me a better buyer.
Every mistake I avoided protected the dream I’m building.
Life after 50 isn’t about rushing.
It’s about choosing wisely.
Whether you’re building a healthier body…
A new hobby…
A stronger business…
Or your dream motorcycle…
Remember this:
The right opportunity is always worth waiting for.
See you next week.
